C&S Church rejects use of Hijab in its schools in Kwara

The Cherubim and Seraphim Movement Church, C&S, Worldwide in Kwara State has rejected the state government’s order that female students at its College in llorin wear hijab.

C&S is opposed to female students wearing the Muslim veil, according to Most Reverend Samuel Abidoye, the church’s Chairman and Spiritual Father.

According to him, “the church would be responsible for the appointment of the management of the institution, it would decide on dress code and use of beret.”

According to report, he said this while speaking to reporters in Ilorin on Sunday.

“Maintenance of the school has been the sole responsibility of the church.”, he said

He also said that “Cherubim and Seraphim College at Sabo-oke in llorin owned by Seraphim Church Worldwide was established in 1969 to take care of the educational development of children.”

As a result, the church advised the government to “revisit its decision on the matter to forestall unnecessary trespass capable of leading to breakdown of law and order in any part of the state.
