Africa’s COVID-19 cases surpass 4.14m

The Africa Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC) reported that the number of confirmed Coronavirus (COVID-19) cases in Africa had reached 4,148,866 as of Wednesday noon.

The African Union’s (AU) specialized healthcare agency, the Africa CDC, reported that 110,524 people died as a result of the pandemic, with 3,705,369 people recovering across the continent.

According to the Africa CDC, COVID-19 has claimed the lives of 52,251 people in South Africa, followed by 11,680 in Egypt and 8,775 in Morocco.

Southern Africa is the most affected region in terms of confirmed cases, followed by northern Africa and eastern Africa regions.
