Eight suspected cultists arrested in Anambra

Eight alleged cultists terrorizing Anambra state have been apprehended by men from the state police command.

A statement released by DSP Ikenga Tochukwu, the spokesperson of the state police command, the command’s operatives in conjunction with the military and other security agencies in the state, on March 23, raided a couple of criminal hideouts in Okija, Ihiala LGA and arrested the suspects whose names are;

• Ugbe Lucky ‘M’ 27yrs • Ekene Ebubeze ‘M’ 38yrs • Somto Chukwu ‘M’ 25yrs. • Ifeanyi Eze ‘M’ 22yrs • Chika Nnekezie ‘M’ 31yrs • Chidi Amadike ‘M’ 26yrs, • Maduabaka Obidiazor ‘M’ 30yrs • Chinemelum Okeke ‘M’ 19yrs

One long locally made dane gun, three locally double barrel pistols, one live cartridge, two knives, one jungle army camp beret, one red beret, two police belts, one Shisha smoking pot, and a substance suspected to be cannabis sativa were among the items recovered, according to Ikenga.

He went on to say that the state commissioner of police, CP MB Kuryas, praised the joint patrol team led by Area Commander Ihiala for their bravery and reassured residents of the state that the Command would be relentless in bringing criminal elements hell-bent on causing trouble in the state to justice.
