The University of Jos yet again regrets to announce the sudden disappearance of Nanshak Timothy, a 200level criminology and security studies student from the faculty of social sciences.
The missing young man is best described as fair in complexion and 6ft tall in height.
Master Nanshak was last seen on Tuesday the 6th of April, 2021 when he asked to visit a neighboring community for a pick-up. It was past mid night when his close associates realised he wasn’t back to the hostel, and his mobile phone wasn’t reachable. He has missed two of his departmental examination since returning from the Easter break. The police has however declared him missing.
Recall that in March 2021, one Master Faisal Ahmed, a law student at the same University was also declared missing, till date no proper account of his whereabout known or his lifeless body found.
It is however continuously reported that in recent times Jos residents are randomly kidnapped or abruptly missing in their respective communities, only for some bodies to be found with missing body parts. These ugly acts have engineered fear in the minds of the residents as they find it difficult carrying out pressing demands at some times of the day and in some locations.
The Students’ Union Government, SUG and the entire students bemoan these worrisome acts. They are as a matter of fact calling on the state government and the University management to intensify efforts towards rejigging the security architecture of the University’s neighboring communities and the state at large, in order to clamp these notorious acts.
