Expired canned tomatoes truck seized in Kano

The Kano State Consumer Protection Commission (CPC) in collaboration with Kano Road and Traffic Agency (KAROTA) has seized a truck laden with expired canned tomatoes.

The truck was intercepted at around 11:59pm on its way to Singa Market Kano State where the canned tomatoes were to be offloaded on Tuesday the 6th of March.

The Special Assistant to the Governor of Kano State on KAROTA, Nasir Usman Na’ibawa, who led the seizure, said the number of tomatoes seized was 368 cartons.

According to the Kano State Assistant Governor for KAROTA, expired tomatoes are tomatoes which usage has exceeded its expiration dates, so the authorities will continue to investigate to take necessary measures in the future.
