Osinbajo presides as FEC honours late Mahmud Tukur

The weekly Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting at the Presidential Villa in Abuja was presided over by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo on Wednesday.

President Muhammadu Buhari is currently in London for a routine medical examination.

A minute of silence was observed before the proceedings in memory of Mahmud Tukur, a former Minister of Commerce and Industry who passed away recently.

Hajia Zainab Ahmed, Minister of Finance, Budget, and National Planning, and Alhaji Lai Mohammed, Minister of Information and Culture, both attended the meeting.

Others are Minister of Justice and Minister of State for Education, Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba and Abubakar Malami, Attorney General of the Federation while other ministers joined online virtually from their offices.

The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, was represented by Mrs Habiba Lawal, the Permanent Secretary, Ecological Funds Office.

Ibrahim Gambari, the Chief of Staff to the President, and the National Security Adviser, Babagana Munguno were also present at the meeting.

At its last meeting on March 31, 2021, FEC approved over N19 billion for various projects for the Ministries of Transportation, Aviation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
