Barclays Center to host DMX’s public memorial on April 24

The Barclays Center in Brooklyn has been announced as the location for a public memorial for DMX on April 24.

Earl Simmons, the Hip Hop Icon, died on Friday, April 9, at the age of 50, after suffering a drug overdose on April 2 that resulted in a heart attack.

According to the rapper’s manager, Steve Rifkind, he will be remembered by family and friends on April 24, with a private funeral service the next day at a New York City-area church.

According to the paper, ticketing and COVID-19 logistics are still being worked on. The arena will hold up to 19,000 people.
