Students flee Anambra campus, communities over fear of Fulani invasion, killings

Students of the Anambra state university Igbariam were seen Monday fleeing in droves, from their hostels on campus and off campus as news of indigenes being slaughtered by Fulani Herdsmen filtered in.

Reports from different sources have it that there is tension in the community as some herdsmen allegedly broke into the homes of some locals, slaughtering no fewer than six persons, including women and children.

A Twitter user, Somtochukwu Okonkwo had posted on his handle, “I Just Confirmed The News About The Gruesome Slaughter By Fulani Herdsmen In Igbariam, Anambra State.

“Little Children, Women, Men Were Killed & Beheaded (I Have Other Videos To Confirm This But I Can’t Post). There Is Serious Tension In Igbariam Right Now. More Details To Come!,” the post reads.

The cause of the unrest is yet to be ascertained as 774Ngr correspondent on ground to fetch details.
