The border fringes of Sokoto state, specifically areas bordering Niger republic: Sabon birni, Isa, Gada and Illela , recently, have been plagued with activities of bandits and trapped in the web of insurgency.
These incessant notorious acts have rendered most residents of the area homeless and in pitiable conditions. Quite often the Government have intervened in the provision of relief materials to cushion the devastating effects, but the vast majority of the affected communities have lamented on the state of neglect and the inability to have a desired living, in the provision of food, clothing and befitting shelter.
These ordeals experienced by the residents of ILA GARI of Gada Local Government Area in Sokoto attracted the attention of a concerned group known as Al’itisam Educational Initiative to render assistance to the community especially the displaced orphans, widows and the homeless.
The Al’itisam Educational Initiative on Sunday the 5th of May, 2021, which is equivalent to 20-9-1442AH had a modest effort to distribute Food items and clothing to the victims of the affected area. They had a lovely moment with the Orphans, and interacted with over 43 widows in the community.
They also partook in the breaking of fast with the widows and orphans before departing for the state capital.
