Corps members test positive to COVID-19 in Sokoto

About Fifteen National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members in Sokoto have been confirmed positive with COVID-19.

The State commissioner for Health, Dr. Ali Inname made this disclosures while Speaking during a news conference in Sokoto on Tuesday. He said that the infected members were detected in the ongoing orientation exercise and had already been moved to an isolation centre for prompt treatment and temporary Isolation.

It is however confirmed that about 19,557 people had been tested in the state since the virus was declared a global Pandemic, with a total of 787 confirmed cases and 28 deaths recorded so far.

He urged residents yet to be tested to do so and get vaccinated at the different centres in the state.

Residents have been advised to strictly maintain and observe the preventive measures to curb the spread of the virus, and to always maintain physical and social distancing in gatherings and occasions.
