The Zamfara State Police Command has successfully rescued 15 victims who were abducted in the Bungudu Local Government Area, ending a three-month ordeal for the survivors.
The rescue operation was carried out by a police patrol team during a routine security sweep on Tuesday, March 24, 2026. The victims were intercepted at approximately 3:30 p.m. in a location within Bungudu, where they had been held by armed bandits since their abduction in December 2025.
Following their recovery, the survivors were immediately transported to the Nahuche Primary Health Care Centre for medical evaluation and treatment.
